Frequently Asked Questions

Q: On the My Experiments page, I typed in a topic that's in the database, but when I try to select a quote, the entire database appears in the window, not just the quotes under that topic. How can I get it to work properly?

A: Instead of typing in the topic name that you know is in the database, click on "pick one from database" and choose the same topic. Then when you try to select a quote, only the quotes under that topic will appear. The same is true for selecting an affirmation or prayer.

Q: I want to choose a quote but I don't know yet what topic I want to focus on. I just want to read some quotes and then choose one. How can I do this?

A: In the navigation bar at the top of the page, click on "Quotes" and then either click on "Generate new random quote" or click on "Filter" to look at quotes under various topics and/or author/source.

Q: Where do I find information on how to apply the different parts of the My Experiments page? For example, I want some instructions on how to meditate.

A: Click on the Helpful Hints link here or on the Helpful Hints link next to the different parts of the My Experiments page.

Q: How do I print out the My Experiments page? I want to handwrite some of the entries.

A: After you've selected all the entries you want from the database, and/or finished typing in the entries you want, save them using the "Save this experiment" button at the bottom of the page, then click on the "Print Experiments" link (at the top right side of the page) to open up a print-format version of My Experiments as well as the print dialogue window. Once printed, you can handwrite whatever entries you want. If you need more space for journaling, simply add a page to your print-out.

Q: I attempted to print out the My Experiments page, but what I just typed or added doesn't appear on the print-out. How can I fix this?

A: Be sure to save your entries before clicking on the "Print Experiments" link. To do this, click on the "Save this experiment" button at the bottom of the page. It automatically saves every 5 minutes, but unless you save what you've done before clicking on "Print Experiments," whatever was added since the last save won't appear in the print-format version.

Q: How can I keep a record of the experiments I've done? I don't see any way to save the current My Experiments page before beginning a new one.

A: At this time, the only way to keep a record of what you've worked on for any given day or period is to print out a copy of your entries using the Print function. Save the page using the "Save this experiment" button at the bottom of the page, and then click on the "Print Experiments" link at the top right side of the page.
