Potential

Spiritual Practice: As souls we have unlimited power within us and unlimited potential. To tap into that potential requires contacting the soul, the spark of God within. Meditate regularly to make that contact and then affirm your unlimited power and potential: “As a soul, one with God, I have unlimited power and potential. I bring forth that power and see my potential shining before me."

Spiritual Practice: If you could do anything you wanted to do, with money, power, skill, or training being no object, what would you do? Given your interests and skills, and the possibility of further education or training, could you do this or something related to it as an intermediate step? If your answer is no, what voice is telling you “no"—a parent, a teacher from the past? What feeling comes with that “no"?

Consider the power in your passion. Isn't that enough to take a first step toward your goal? Or is your desire just a whim? If so, what do you really want to do? What are you passionate about? If you don't feel passionate about anything, look at the strong interests you had as a child. How do they mesh with your strong interests now? Do they offer you any clues? Can you see a way that you can act on those interests and create work for yourself through some form of employment or self-employment?

Be aware of all the negative, limiting beliefs that come up. Where did they come from? Whom did you learn them from? How do they continue to serve you? Do you want to play small or to step beyond your comfort zone? Limiting beliefs hold you back and keep you from reaching your potential. Instill new beliefs through affirmation. Move in the direction of your dreams by manifesting your potential—if you dare. It's your life. What do you want?

Spiritual Practice: Attempt to do something you thought you couldn't do. Start with something small. As you succeed with small things, try bigger things. For example, cook a gourmet meal, run ten miles, stop eating sweets for two weeks, learn a new skill, quit a bad habit. Feel and acknowledge the power of your accomplishments. Draw on that inner energy and power to accomplish more.

Spiritual Practice: Thank God every time you're able to use your inner power and energy to accomplish something. Remember all the times you were able to accomplish something difficult, and thank God for all those times. Thank God for all the circumstances in the future in which you will accomplish increasingly difficult tasks on your way to reaching your potential.
