Intuition
Spiritual Practice: Intuition is cultivated in calmness, and meditation is a highly effective way to reach that peace which helps to awaken intuition. So if you're not in the habit of meditating, determine to begin that practice, even if it's just five or ten minutes, morning and evening. In the silence of meditation you can begin to get in touch with the intuitive promptings of the soul, the infallible realizations of truth that do not rely on input from the five senses.
Spiritual Practice: When you need guidance or answers to problems, in the realm of truth and in everyday life, meditate until you reach a state of calmness—the deeper, the better. Hold the problem before the universal intelligence and ask for guidance or an answer to the problem. Then feel for an answer. Hold on to your calmness. If no answer comes, present the problem or ask the question again, and feel, expecting an intuitive response. If no answer comes during that meditation, take the question into your next meditation. Keep on trying. Your persistence will pay off in time. The answer might not come during one of your meditations, but at another time, usually when you're relaxed. Pay attention to the thoughts that might enter your mind and be sure not to toss them aside too quickly. The answer might be there, you just might not realize it at first.
Spiritual Practice: If you have difficulty believing you have any intuitive faculty, try to recall and write down those times when you had a hunch about something that came true, or had a dream that came true. That's intuition. Spend the next week paying attention to those subtle, barely conscious hunches or hints that you have. It may be a subtle hint to do something during your workday that you either act on or don't. Sometimes they're so subtle you don't pay enough attention to them and don't act on them, but later discover it would have been better if you had. After you begin to see that you have intuition, it might be easier to attempt some of the other spiritual practices in which you consciously access your intuition.
Spiritual Practice: When you need to make a decision, pay attention to how you feel about your options. For example, if you're looking for a new home or apartment, pay attention to how you feel about each one you look at. Sometimes a place just doesn't feel right with no rational explanation. Sometimes it feels very right. Pay attention to these intuitive promptings. Also, pay attention to those times when you're trying especially hard to convince yourself of something. You may be covering up your own intuitive prompting that's hinting something different.
Spiritual Practice: Affirm morning and evening: “I meditate daily and tune into the truth and intelligence of Spirit. I allow my peace-born intuition to guide me in all my decisions."
