Spiritual Practices

Integrity

Spiritual Practice: Commit to doing something for yourself, for another person, or for a group you belong to, and follow through. Stretch yourself and hold yourself accountable. Be in integrity with yourself and with others.

Spiritual Practice: See how you respond when someone asks you to do something. Do you say “yes" even though you know you won't do it, just to avoid conflict in the moment? Or are you honest and say “yes" only when you know you can and will do it? Be aware of what you do in situations like this.

Spiritual Practice: Make stretches for yourself. Start small. Look at the little things you've been meaning to do for yourself, like exercising regularly or flossing your teeth daily, and decide that you are going to do it. Hold yourself accountable. When you follow through on what you say you're going to do, you gain greater personal power to use in all areas of your life.

Spiritual Practice: Sometimes you have conflicting commitments. Ask yourself at these times what would be the best course of action. What would keep you most in integrity with your higher values? Choose that commitment.

Spiritual Practice: Every now and then, check your motivation for the things you do. Is it in line with who you are, your beliefs, your mission? Or is your motivation based on how you will be perceived by others, on “looking good"?
